It's not so easy to step back and look at the year that has just passed with a critical and objective eye.
This year again, I find that 2022 has been even more surprising than the others. Faster, further, higher. Challenges, meetings, learning, inspiration and sharing that make me predict the best to come. Starting with this site, inaugurated last January, and which marked the start of a great year!
Extraordinary women
Thanks to Band of Sisters , orchestrated by Cécile Fricker Lehanneur, thanks to the team of creators from SO.Skaia & friends , I met caring and committed women, ultra-inspired and inspiring creators. We help each other, we support each other, we connect in a natural way that I've never experienced before. Sound has become a real force that we must all grow because it has power, over us as well as over our society.
Solveig , by photographing the Minuit collection , also allowed me to better assume my image, to play with it. It was my first real shoot and I was very apprehensive. She gave me confidence in 5 minutes, and was able to draw unexpected images from me. One more step towards self-confidence, but also towards better promotion of my work and I think you liked the result.
I think especially of my clients, more and more numerous, more and more loyal and committed. Thank you all for supporting me, helping me grow, relaying, and also reassuring me about the choices I make. Privileged relationships have been formed, some tell me their family stories through their jewelry that they entrust to me. Others propel me by offering me opportunities. I am incredibly lucky to have such a caring community. It's thanks to you if I always flourish a little more in this beautiful adventure.
Travels and places
Finally, it was possible to travel again, to dream of a change of scenery and astonishing landscapes. Jordan was a dream since my childhood, and I was not disappointed. the desert, its colors and its lights, the rich history of the country, its mixed cultures thanks to the multiple civilizations that have succeeded one another, make it a particular source of inspiration and the starting point of the Desert collection, presented last spring.
But the anchor point, more and more, will be Brittany. My refuge, calm and isolated, my beloved workshop and the flea markets which are full of treasures. I spent a lot of time there, I loved meeting you there, and it is certain that next year, I will be there even more often. I am organizing myself for this and I hope to also be able to offer you new opportunities to meet up.
And even if I would tend to flee Paris, there is a place that remains linked to my world, and that I would not leave. The Palais Royal once again hosted the BLISS Christmas pop-up, a perfect setting on my scale. Delicate and historic, it gives incredible charm and highlights my jewelry in an incomparable way. This year again, this week in the Galerie de Valois was a magical moment.
Every day's commitment
Ecological commitment has been part of my approach since the beginning. Reused old pieces will always be in the majority, and for some time contemporary pieces have often come from the dormant stocks of jewelers or fashion houses. It is sometimes a more complex operation and I could sometimes abandon certain aspects of my work for ease. I always make each origami pouch by hand, the envelopes come from salvaged stocks, the old postcards written by hand. Every detail of the process remains and will remain committed, no matter what.
The organizations with which I work are too: since this year, I have chosen GreenGot as my new bank, and I am proud to be one of the first 1500 to support this innovative initiative, which places our money in actions of depollution of the oceans, or financing of renewable energies. There are now more than 10,000 of us who have committed to this neo-bank, which fully intends to make things happen. And if you want to contribute to change, I would happily sponsor you!
By choosing Stripe to centralize payments made via the site, I am paying a useful commission that Stripe Climate pays to different companies that have recently taken up the challenge of eliminating carbon and making significant progress.
I got involved again with MakeFridayGreenAgain to fight against Black Friday and unnecessary overconsumption, but also alongside Oxfam for #SecondHandSeptember .
A renewed creation
From all these encounters and discoveries, 4 collections were born this year: Fjord, Desert, Souvenirs and Minuit .
I wanted to offer you rarer, more unexpected pieces, more freedom and extravagance. Get out of the box, here too, so as not to experience weariness. I also took the time to deepen my knowledge of eras, beliefs and meanings, materials and know-how. Art history has always fascinated me, so jewelry history is even better!
Everything is not rosy
I also think of beautiful stories that had to stop, like Mountain Girl , which nevertheless had such strong values and such a sure style. There is still a long way to go and we must admit that we cannot convince everyone of the importance of acting for a better world, and of the benefit of thinking differently.
Disappointments, missed appointments, missed targets, jewels that do not meet their audience, there have been some this year of course, but I take them as learning to build the coming year.
And for 2023, then?
Beautiful things are starting to take shape... new partners, desires to get out of the creative framework, a more lively site, ephemeral sales in new places, even more Brittany, and therefore even more time rummaging through wonders . I'll tell you more very soon... but I hope, this year again, to surprise you and make you want to adopt new unique jewelry, which will bring you good luck.
Very happy new year 2023 to all.
